Dr. Shahira Boulos received her medical degree in 1986 and she is a member of the college of family physicians of Canada and an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Queen’s University. With a surgical background, Dr. Boulos has been administering cosmetic injections since 2007. She has successfully built upon this experience with further training in Aesthetic Medicine and has attended various conferences, where interaction with her peers continues to keep her education current. Dr. Boulos frequently teaches at Centennial College.
BOTULINUM TOXIN OVERVIEW:
This comprehensive one-day hands-on training workshop explores the applications of Botulinum Toxin type A for cosmetic purposes with a focus on the most popular areas requested for treatment. Presentation will include an introduction to history and new developments on the horizon of Botulinum Toxin A as well as a brief analysis of Botulinum Toxin B. Significant focus on pertinent facial anatomy and physiology will be presented (the cornerstone to safe and effective treatment). Presentation will include mechanism of action, safety and efficacy issues, management and treatment of complications, dilution guidelines, and comprehensive information on proper injection techniques and placement, for desired outcome. Our intense hands-on session will include identifying and mapping areas for injection and actually doing the injections.
Duration of the course: One day (8 hours)
Course prerequisite: Medical Doctor degree or Nurses degree
